Family Farm Seaside Guide by Freyashawk
There’s a new update that feels poorly timed, at least for me. This post will be a work in progress as I cover it. The main feature of this update is the Fountain of Plenty, which is reminiscent of the Workshop in Island Activities where you need to craft special items to complete tasks.
Ironically, it’s easiest for players who don’t need these items to make them. High-level players will find many of the new items unusable.
For example, each Resort market building now has a new slot where you can add an item made in the Fountain. These items are more valuable than ordinary ones and will increase your Resort Level faster, unless you’re already at the maximum level. The most useful slot is at your Market stall, where you can sell items to specific buyers.
What’s frustrating is that the Fountain only has one slot initially. To add a second slot, you need:
- 80 Minor Substitute Potions
- 80 Pink Rose Lamps
- 20,000 Coins
For a third slot:
- 80 Parrot Water Floats
- 40 Shrimp Balls
- 40,000 Coins
For a fourth slot:
- 2 Water of Plenty
- 50 Seawater Essence
- 40 Crab Sticks
- 60,000 Coins
It takes forever to make 80 Potions, and there’s no time limit, but you have to tap every few minutes to keep production going.
Another annoying aspect is that the Fountain requires special Energy to produce items, with a limit of 75. Some items need more than 1 Energy to produce, making it a never-ending project. I often wonder about the value of my time. Some players spend real money for benefits, while others keep tapping like slaves. It’s a personal choice, but the game is becoming stressful and expensive if you want all the items.
A major part of this update involves the Botanical Garden. There are two new aspects:
- You now have a rare chance of creating a new Grand flower by crossbreeding two Mega flowers. There are also three Magic Dust items that speed up flower growth. However, you need two Mega Flowers, and the chances are slim. You’re more likely to get a Level 1 Friendship Flower like a Cupcake Flower, which can be purchased with Insect Coins. So, don’t stress too much over the new flowers.
The three new flowers are:
- Grand Hydrangea
- Grand Lily of the Valley
- Grand Fairy Lily
Note that the same item needed to add another Fountain slot is required to produce Magic Dust. If I weren’t writing this post to explain these new options, I would stop here.
There is an advantage for farmers who haven’t reached the maximum Resort level in making special items in the new Fountain. For example, if you have the Snack Shop in the Resort, making and selling a Flower Brooch will give you far more Resort Points than any ordinary item. There’s a new box with four slots for these special items. In my Resort, the Flower Brooch is worth 1110 Resort Points with a 15% boost. Since my Resort is at the maximum level, it’s pointless for me. Note that many Seaside expansions require specific Resort levels, so the new items’ value should help some players.
